TODAY:
-We continued our discussion of Drucker Chapter 1. We started class by dividing into smaller groups and discussing the Silent Revolution. We then discussed the U.S. events that have changed the paradigm of management. We will finish Chapter 1 on Monday.

HOMEWORK:
-Read Chapter 2.
-Answer the following Discussion Questions:
1) What does it mean that the customer is in the driver's seat?
2) How does Medtronic personify Drucker's ideal of customer focus?
3) What are the 4 Drucker questions that a company should answer when connecting with its customer?

-We started class by watching 2 more personal PowerPoint presentations. Don't worry, we will get to those of you who have not presented yet. We then attempted to have an intelligent discussion about the use of cell phones in class. Unfortunately, this conversation was marred by side conversations.

HOMEWORK:
-Write a 5-page, double-spaced response to the following questions: Should students be allowed to use cell phones in class?

-We finished watching "One Day In September."
-We discussed the discussion questions for "One Day In September" and the "Security For Sports Events" article.
-We will finish discussing the response to 9/11 by sports facilities and Chapter 2 at the beginning of class on Tuesday.

-Read Chapter 1.

-I handed out 2 Sports Business Journal articles that we will discuss on Tuesday.
-We discussed the importance of getting involved in your major outside of the classroom.

-We began a discussion of Chapter 8. We discussed stress, stressors, distress, & eustress. We also began discussing Selye's Stress definition. We will discuss the 3 stages of GAS and the Chapter 9 discussion questions at the beginning of class on Tuesday.
