TODAY:
-There were no discussion questions due.
-We continued our discussion of Unit 1: The Sociology of Sport. We discussed how sports helped the US heal after 9/11. We then began a discussion about the social impact of various sport events & athletes.

HOMEWORK:
-No new discussion questions for Wednesday. We will continue our discussion of Unit 1.
-Blog Post #2 is due before Friday's class. The topic is: What is 1 characteristic (not physical) of yourself that you would like to change during your college experience? Explain.

TODAY:
-Quiz #2 was due.
-Chapter 3 discussion questions were due.
-We continued our discussion of Drucker Chapter 2. We reviewed the Customer Satisfaction Model and push/pull marketing strategies. We discussed how Medtronic personifies Drucker's ideal of customer focus, the 4 Drucker questions for connecting with your customer, and the Product Diffusion Curve.

-Brooke Coderre will bring in a current event for us to discuss.

-Chapter 9 discussion questions were due.
-We began a discussion of Chapter 8. We discussed the definitions of stress, stressor, eustress, & distress. We then discussed Selye's stress definition and the General Adaptation Syndrome.

HOMEWORK:
-Paul Dick will bring in a current event for us to discuss.
-Read textbook Chapter 1 & answer the following Discussion Questions:
1) Define: leisure, work, personal care, & recreation.
2) Explain how Neulinger's Paradigm of Leisure categorizes activities.
3) Summarize/Explain each of the 6 activity categories within Neulinger's paradigm.
