-We discussed the civic engagement project. You decided, as a group, that you would liek to complete the 10 hour requirement as a class. You are to think of group project ideas and come to class on Monday ready to discuss. Click here for more information on civic engagement.
-We began our discussion of Three Cups of Tea focusing on the first 2 questions.
Homework:
-Be ready to discuss 3CT questions 3 & 4.
3. There is a danger in imposing our own solutions to the problems faced by other cultures and societies. How was Greg Mortenson able to avoid this trap? What about his background made him sensitive to the specific needs of those he encountered in Pakistan and Afghanistan?
4. What does 3CT tell us about the status of women in this region of the world? Why does Mortenson feel the education of girls is so important? How will it improve their status? Is the same dynamic true in our culture?

-We continued with our discussion of Chapter 3 focusing on innovation. The discussion was a little weak and unprepared today. Please coem to clas on Wednesday ready to talk.
Homework:
-Be ready to finish our Chapter 3 discussion focusing on the 7 sources of innovation opportunities.
-Be ready to discuss the 2 brainstorming questions about FPU you were to answer over the weekend.
-Reaearch paper topic proposal is due on Wednesday.
