TODAY:
-No new discussion questions were due.
-We spent the first half of class discussing my expectations for the blog postings.
-We watched the ESPN SportsCentury highlights clip.

HOMEWORK:
-Roundtable discussion notecard topic for Friday: What is something about you that very few people know.
-Blog Post #2 topic due for Friday: What is 1 characteristic (not physical) of yourself that you would like to improve during your college experience?  Explain.
-The following Unit 2: Education & Sports discussion questions are due on Monday.  The answers to these questions can be found in textbook Chapter 1:
1) Define: sociology, social world, culture, social interaction, social structure.
2) Do you agree with the precise definition of "sports"?  Why or why not?
3) Sports involve a balance between the elements of play & spectacle.  Explain the differences between play & spectacle.
4) What are the differences between the sociology & psychology of sport?
5) Define: ideologies.

-We finished discussing Drucker Chapter 2 by discussing the topic of "there is never only one customer."

HOMEWORK:
-Sam Comeau will bring in a current event for us to discuss.
-Read Drucker Chapter 4 & answer the following Discussion Questions:
1) In your opinion, what are the advantages/disadvantages of group decision making?
2) What was Myelin Repair Foundation’s collaboration model?
3) How is Dell a "pioneer of collaboration?"
4) What is Toshiba’s collaborative business model?
5) Why has the Sony-Ericsson joint venture been a very successful collaboration?

-We finished discussing Chapter 8.  We discussed Selye's General Adaptation Syndrome.
-We started discussing Chapter 9 by discussing the physiological benefits of humor & laughter.
